The Penzance Companies has completed the acquisition from the Walker Company of its 6-building, approximately 730,000 square foot portfolio in Reston. Comprised of three buildings in each of 2 office parks—Parkridge Center and the park now known as Reston Corner, the portfolio is distinguished by its advantageous location and proximity to the Dulles Toll Road.

The Penzance Companies and B.M. Smith & Associates, Inc. as joint venture partners plan to develop up to 1.78 million square feet of commercial office space on 39.6 acres near the intersection of Route 28 and McLearen Road in Fairfax County. The office park, to be constructed over the next 10 years, will have as many as 7 buildings ranging in size from approximately 150,000 to 330,000 square feet.

In April 2007, 455 Massachusettes Ave, NW, the 12-story, 250,000 square foot office building with approximately 14,000 square feet of retail space and 4 levels of below-grade parking, “topped off.” The exterior of the building is being clad and is on time and on budget. Completion is expected in the 4th quarter, 2007. The architecturally distinguished office building is the first in more than a quarter of a century in the Mount Vernon Triangle, D.C.’s vibrant new 24-hour neighborhood.
